There is nothing like a good relationship, it's a cornerstone of life. At its best it is secure, deeply rewarding with positive spin offs to all aspects of life. But a long-term relationship like this is often hard won. When a relationship is not going well it can be sad, lonely, hurtful and even damaging. There may be difficult outside influences or negative patterns of behaviour. Sometimes the same issues seem to keep coming up with no new outcomes.

People often say: "My partner doesn't listen"; "we don't have fun together anymore"; "we don't communicate"; "there's a vast gap between us". Sometimes there has been an identifiable crisis, but often the change has been slow and it is hard to pinpoint where things went wrong.

Couples' counselling can help break those patterns.

As with individual counselling there is no "quick fix". Sometimes it can take a few sessions to start to notice changes and to reveal possibilities for the relationship to be vital and growing again, but your relationship is worth the time and commitment involved.
